Treatments For The Dry Skin
by Simran Ch TCM-Salon DubaiThe daily grind we have to go to, we barely get enough time
to look after ourselves. Leaving us with dry and itchy skin that just not feels
uncomfortable to touch but looks unattractive too. In winters however, the dry
skin becomes more prominent and drier. If you have an extreme dry skin and
looking for a solution, don’t worry. You’ve come to the right place. Following
are the best ways to treat your extreme dry skin.
Don’t Shower With
Very Hot Water
Hot showers in winters are a blessing but not for your skin
since hot showers can negatively affect the softness of your skin. They strip
off the natural oils and nutrients from the body and wash them away which is
why in winters, after a hot shower out skin appears dry. Instead, shower with
warm water. It’s healthy for the skin. Also don’t hang in the shower too much.
10 minutes of scrubbing is enough.
Wear A Sun Mask In
Summers & Lip Balm In Winters
Summers are a great time to go out and enjoy but the hot
July sun can greatly affect your skin. It can cause wrinkles and other skin
damage. On extreme sunny days, don’t go out without wearing a sun mask. Sun
masks with SPF-30 protect against the Ultraviolet rays of the sunshine and
blocks them from entering your skin hence preventing a lot of damage to your
skin. Plus it smells good too. So why not?
Cambio quotes,
"dress in layers to prevent overheating and perspiring
excessively; both can irritate the skin."
In Winters, since there is no hot temperature, the extreme
chill weather can cause skin to dry and lips. Make sure to moisten your skin
and moisten your lips using a lip balm
Tackling Winters
Winters are deceiving. There is moderate temperatures yet it
causes skin to dry off. Heating sitting rooms or lounges further removes
moisture from the air causing dry skin to become even more dry. First of all,
use a humidifier to get pure humid-less air to breathe in. It also helps
retaining the moisture of the air.
Moisture Your Skin
Moisture your skin. Without proper moisture, your skin can
appear very dry. Petroleum jelly is an effective natural moisturiser. If you
want something more fancy, look for shea butter or glycerin enriched
moisturisers. They help retain the natural oils & keep the skin smooth and pulpy.
Using Proper Skincare
Using cheap skincare cosmetics or cosmetics enriched with
chemicals can cause a great deal of damage to your skin. Instead choose
something that is much more Natural. Skincare products made of glycerin or
petroleum jelly are a right step to take. Another natural moisturiser is
Vaseline. It creates a protective barrier that retains the moisture and
prevents the dryness on skin. Using cheap soaps and moisturisers in return harm
your skin making it appear dry and dull. Instead of moisturising your skin, itd
takes away the moisture.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is a tropical blessing, from hair to skin,
nothing it cannot treat. Plus the scent is wonderful too unlike most oils.
Coconut oil is just as good for your skin as it is for your hair. This is
because it absorbs verily slowly into skin and moisturising your skin to the
core.
Drink Lots of Lots of
water
Last but not the least is the most obvious of all. As we
grow up to be adults, the less focused we get towards our diet and water
intake. Water hydrates your body and controls body fluids. Don’t swap water
with other alternatives like coffee or drinks. Long story short, less water
means more drier skin so drink at least 8 glasses of water to maintain a
natural balance and to keep your body hydrated.
