Travel Diary: A Visit To Patna

Traffic Jams, chaos and crowd, obviously, people coming from outside the state will have these preconceived notions in their minds about Patna. I too had the same feel.

And one fine morning, I had to go to Patna from Mumbai for some official work. I took a two-hour flight from Mumbai to Patna same day. On disembarking from the flight, I hired a cab, and straightaway went to a five-star hotel in Patna near airport.

The city truly follows the concept of Atithi Devo Bhavo or the Guests are the God theory, and the city’s thriving hospitality industry is a valid proof to the same. I went to Patna for an office seminar, but I instantly fell in love with the city’s aura and vibe.

After a few meets events, I started for my spiritual journey to Bodh Gaya. These days, the best hotel in Patna, helps visitor plan their tour itinerary. My hotel provided me a cab to explore the city and its nearby areas.

Inside Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya

Mahabodhi temple and Bodhi tree are the prime attractions of Bodh Gaya, which is just a few miles away from Gaya, another populous city of Bihar. Mahabodhi Temple is an extremely popular spot for the Buddhists worldwide. It is the very same place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment.

Mahabodhi temple has attained a world heritage site from UNESCO in 2002. And I’m really happy that I saw this auspicious temple in front of me. The entire vicinity is calm and serene with a whiff of fresh air that purifies the soul.

Simplicity is the essence of Buddhist monasteries. I thoroughly enjoyed the day strolling across the temple. I stayed there for a couple of hours. As the clock struck 6 in the evening, I came back to my hotel. The most pleasant thing that I noticed during my stay at the city’s best hotel in Patna was its pool of supportive staff and courteous associates.

Exploring the City of Patna: A Fun Ride

Then I decided to visit the famous Patna Sahib Gurudwara, also called Takht Shree Harmandir Sahib Ji. Any visit to Gurudwara is always special. The beauty of this historical structure matches almost similar to that of Amritsar’s Golden Temple.

The very same evening, I returned back to my hotel and lovingly recalled my visit to Patna Sahib Gurudwara and Mahabodhi Temple. I also paid a small visit to Mahavir Mandir located adjacent to Patna station, and I bowed my head before Lord Hanuman and took a cab back to my hotel.

As my flight was set to depart following evening, I checked out from that hotel in Patna near airport with a promise to come again. I was thoroughly satisfied with Hotel Patliputra Continental’s exceptional services, hospitality, and generosity.
