Pattu Pavada sattai and Langa davani is a traditional and simple silk dress that is worn by girls before their marriage and adolescence. Every woman in the southern Indian region will always remember her first pattu pavadai from her vintage photo albums. It obviously denotes the first glance of a girl into the world of silk.

They're made of well-known silk materials including Kancheepuram, Sirumugai, and Banaras. The Pattu pavada is traditional wear that is ideal for cultural and other traditional celebrations.

During adolescence, the pattu pavadai dress changes into a half-saree, and eventually into a saree as she matures into a woman.

Thavani pavadi is generally worn by teen girls who attain the early age of their youth. This outfit later transforms into a half-saree during adolescence and then later to a saree as she transforms into a woman.

This is a dress that girls typically wear till they marry, thereby signifying their single status. It's a two-piece outfit that includes a top and a lehenga (skirt) with long cloth drapping.

You can get readymade pattu pavadai online in many south Indian shops. Rather than dressing your child with regular outfits in the wedding season, you can try the traditional outfits from palam silks.
