Top Weekend Getaway Destinations from Atlanta

What do you crave for, the fresh mountain air or the cool sea breeze? There are many weekend getaway destinations to choose from around Atlanta. These places are just about half a day's drive away and range from the hills and coastline to the charming and historic destinations. Savanna

Savannah is just four hour’s drive away from Atlanta. If you hate driving, take one of the cheap domestic flights to the city. Savannah has the power to transport you to another world as the city is steeped in history, romance, and charm. You can stroll along the historic squares to get a feel of the southern living. Further, the city is dotted with a large number of green spaces. Savannah boasts of world-class restaurants and vibrant entertainment venues. Moreover, the city lies very close to the beach. Greenville

Greenville in South Carolina is just 2.5 hour’s drive away from Atlanta across the state lines. If you don’t want to waste time driving, you can search for cheap oneway plane tickets to Greenville. You can head straight to the Swamp Rabbit Trail riding through downtown Greenville and stopping at a few unique shops that catch your attention along the way. Augusta

Heading east on Route #20 takes you to Augusta in just about 2.5 hours. The city is famous for the National Golf Course. If you are not a golf enthusiast, there is no need to worry. Augusta offers many other activities. You can go on a tour get an idea of the history and culture of the area. The two options available to you are the Black History Tour and the Trolley Tour. If you like adventure, then you can take a mountain bike on rent and visit the Forks Area Trail System for riding 34 miles of wooded tracks. Or else, go paddleboarding. In the downtown area, you get to taste a variety of food ranging from Italy to Mexico. If you don’t want to drive, look out for cheap oneway flights to Augusta.
