El Valle de La Luna

El Valle de La Luna or Valley of the Moon is a stunning moon-like landscape located 13 km from the west of San Pedro de Atacama in the Atacama desert. It is one of the driest places on earth and most visited regions owing to its unique land formation. The valley is characterized by impressive rock formation of various color and texture, enormous dunes all of which resemble exactly like the surface of the moon. It is actually a small depression of salt ground formed due to the folding of underground water underneath the salt lake. From a variety of caverns, saline outcrops, the forbidding terrains are some features that attract a large number of tourists from different regions. El Valle de La Luna also forms part of the Reserva Nacional Los Flamencos and declared in 1928 as a Nature Sanctuary.

El Tatio

El Tatio is the largest and the third-largest geyser field in the world located along the Andes mountain in Northern Chile. El Tatio means an oven or grandfather according to various etymologies, it is a series of stratovolcanoes straddled between the Chile and Bolivia border. El Tatio forms part of the Central Volcanic Zone in the Andes and also part of the AltiplanoPuna volcanic complex. It has been painted with a very good concentration of hot springs, mud pools, fumaroles, water fountains, mud volcanoes, 60 geysers all of which is a major tourist attraction in Chile. Around 400+ visitors visit this place every day, bathing in the hot water and capturing the surreal scenery is a popular activity here. 

Salar de Atacama

Salar de Atacama is a 3000 square km mesmerizing salt flat nestled in the southern region of SAN Pedro de Atacama. The salt flat is the third-largest in the world, it sits at an elevation of 2300 m above sea level. Salar de Atacama is encompassed by unbeatable sights, steaming volcanoes, lunar landscape, saline lagoons, and is also home to an interesting mix of flora and fauna.
