The first ever parenting experience is really a memorable one. One of the most prominent challenges to face while becoming a parent is to set up your baby’s room. Organizing and arranging for baby essentials is the most challenging task as you have to buy best things for their needs. Those essentials should make baby feel comfortable and it should be able to make you stress free and happy.

There are many things that a parent should keep in mind while arranging for baby essential. It includes from baby’s clothes to nappies as well as from baby’s toys to furniture. All these things need extra care while planning for baby’s needs. Here we are listing some tips as to how to buy baby’s furniture and what are the necessary things to look after that:

  • Crib mattress:

Opt for the firmest and lightest mattresses which usually mean a foam one. These mattresses are easy to maintain especially in the middle of night when one has to change the sheets after a blow-out. If one prefer to buy an innerspring mattress, then he/she should prefer the one that has at least 150 coils. Else it would be too soft for your baby which can prove to be dangerous. Along with various mattress options one can go for buying a triple-laminated vinyl covers that comes very handy, as it can keep the mattress safe. Small babies poop, pee as well as spit up a lot in their cribs and so this will save mattress from getting dirty.

  • Crib:

Cribs have their own safety standards that must be checked while purchasing a one for your baby. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has launched new criteria for buying the cribs. Most of the people prefer to buy already used crib, but it is better to buy a new one rather than used one. Cribs should meet following safety standards before buying:

    • Mattress should be firm and tight-fitting.

    • There should be no drop-side.

    • Slats should no wider than soda can.

    • Corner posts should not be higher than 1/16”

    • There should be no cut-outs in headboard or footboard.

  • Bassinet/Cradle:

Bassinet or cradles are preferred as it helps the mom for establishing comfortable breastfeeding to their infants. Also these bassinets can reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). If one does not have a large space to place a crib in their bedroom, bassinets can serve this option easily. Bassinets are safer than cribs as it can be adjusted even in a small room and as a result baby would be nearby parents.

  • Glider/Rocker:

Glider or Rocker is the best option to keep your baby amusing with soothing back-and-forth motion which they really love. This is most comfortable option to relax with your baby and is usually worth for the investment. Most of the gliders now come up with licking mechanism which has a handy safety feature if your toddler is underfoot.
