Top bridges are worth a visit in Danang

Being well-known as one of the significant destinations in the Central of Vietnam, Danang also has a complex network of rivers, and especially the famous Han river running through the city, which plays an important role in the development of this bustling port city.Besides the magnificent landscapes and attractions bringing cultural and historical values, beautiful and unique Danang bridges have fascinated numerous tourists around the world. Here as below are the top bridges chosen by most visitors and included in any Danang tour.

The 666 meter long Dragon bridge had been started in construction in July 2007 and officially opened to traffic on the 38th anniversary of the city’s liberation on 29th March, 2013. Placed in the heart of the city, the bridge features the shape of a giant golden fire-breathing dragon flying towards the East Sea, which has become an iconic symbol of Danang. The bridge also attracts visitors with the fantastic show of the dragon breathing fire and water at 9 pm every weekend and on special occasions. You can easily enjoy the show by taking a seat at the local coffee shops on the riverside or cruising on a night boat along the river. 

Considered as the first swing bridge built by Vietnamese engineers and workers, Han River Bridge is the symbol of the city’s evolution and the new vitality of Danang’s people. The bridge was constructed in 1998 with aunique design that can swing 90 degrees on its axis creating space on both sides of the bridge for boats to pass into the port city. Today,  this swing bridge is no longer needed to function to aid shipping. However, it is still in operation to satisfy the curiosity of tourists who want to spectate the incredible movement of the bridge. Han River Bridge lights up splendidly at night and swings at about 1 am daily, and returns to the same at 3 am. The bridge also swings earlier on weekends at 11 pm during the dry season from April to September.

Tran Thi Ly Bridge was inaugurated in 2013 and replaced two historical bridges named Nguyen Van Troi and Tran Thi Ly. The 731 meter long concrete cable-stayed bridge is designed with the one-of-a-kind shape of a sail referencing this city’s port trading history. The colors of pylon and deck change at night which make the bridge a significant landmark of Danang and an ideal spot for locals and tourists to take great pictures as the sun downs. 

Last but not least, Golden Bridge appealed to the attention of international media after its opening in June 2018 and has drawn millions of visitors from all over the world. Golden Bridge features an arresting appearance with two giant stone-made hands holding the 150 meter long golden footbridge. Built at an altitude of 1400 meters above sea level and offering a pedestrian walkway, Golden Bridge makes you feel like you are strolling in the clouds. The Golden Bridge is a part of the famous Bana Hills theme park located on Mount Bana 25 kilometers away from the center of Danang. Thus, the bridge is only accessible by the cable car of Bana Hills. The entrance ticket also includes most of the service of the theme park such as Jardin D’Amour garden, French village, Fantasy Park, Debay wine cellar and more.
