Top 6 Destinations to visit in Italy

1.Rome 2. Florence, 3. Venice, 4. Naples, 5.Milan, 6. Pisa

We totally agree with this quote about the wonderful country called Italy…
"What is the fatal charm of Italy? What do we find there that can be found nowhere else? I believe it is a certain permission to be human, which other places, other countries, lost long ago." – Erica Jong, American novelist.
Travel experts and tourists alike have been agreeing for long that Italy is a very special place. This country has reached to an extent that it has become a de facto bucket list tourist spot for just about every wanderer. It is safe to assume that Italy's offerings are unmatched. It is not only famous for its rich historical sites and incredible food, but also for its beautiful small towns, equally beautiful cities, notorious art, U.S. coastlines and wonderful pictures of the countryside.
We have brought together a list of the best places to visit in Italy keeping a number of factors in mind. From seasonality and affordability to sites and crowds, we will help you decide exactly where to head.
Here is a list of the 6 best destinations to visit while you are in Italy…
Venice
Venice is considered a city with exceptional beauty great and great historical significance. It definitely has a unique vibe to it and is unlike any other city seen in Italy. Venice is indeed a unique work of art. I think it is safe to say that you won't find any shortage of places to visit and things to do here. While it may cliché to say, but I'll still say it. Venice is enchanting. Yes. Don't believe me? Head to this city and find it floating on water, then say for yourself, you'll surely agree.
The breathtaking Grand Canal will greet you as soon as you step off the Santa Lucia train station.  Afterward, you'll find water taxis coasting along and passing from underneath the Ponte degli Scalzi, which is the Bridge of the Barefoot. Here you also might hear a faint hint of a serenading violin, or, are you just imagining things?
Haha, don't worry, it might not all be in your head. There are many colorful gondolas carrying smitten couples, gliding through the chain of the city's numerous waterways. To add a cherry on the cake, the gondola drivers sing when the moment feels right. Aww…isdodon't that sweet? Well, let's not get carried away just yet.
There are quite a few other diversions too apart from the boat rides underneath the canals. You will get some great historical insight by taking a tour at the Doge's Palace and Saint Mark's Basilica. At the Gallerie dell'Accademia, you'll find works by Titian hung on the wall. The Teatro La Fenice puts on a great show by world-renowned operas. If you miss out on these beauties, you're going to miss out on a lot my friend.
Florence
Being the birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence is a city rich in history and culture. There is no doubt that it was rated the best city in all of Europe in the 2015 Readers' Choice Awards. In order to be part of a memorable trip to this wonderful city, experience Florence in a way which makes you take a step back and travel through time. When you do that, I assure you, it will show you everything you need to see regarding how history has affected the art and culture of the city.
Be it astronomy or physics, be it archeology, art, architecture, or history, Florence has something to suit everyone's taste.
Tucked amid the Tuscan hills, this little city has cast a long shadow throughout history. From the wellspring of the Renaissance to Firenze (or Florence) sheltering the powerful Medici family and forever inspiring artists like Michelangelo for David and Brunelleschi for the Duomo, if it wasn't for the chic shops lining Via Tornabuoni or the fashionable Italians, you might have thought you had traveled back through time and landed in the 14th century!
Rome
Rome is the city of the seven hills which has always enjoyed a mythic beginning. Remus and Romulus, who were twin brothers, were fathered by a war god and nursed by a she-wolf, reportedly founded the Eternal City.
On one hand, historians were always a little skeptical about this grand entry into the world. On the other hand, most travelers are certain that there is a magical vibe to the city of Rome. Be it the ghosts of the Colosseum or the mystery of the nearby Vatican City, or a piled-high plate of pasta at a trattoria or an afternoon caffè on the Piazza Navona, be sure to be enchanted!
Rome, Italy's capital city is also known for a history that dates back to the medieval eras. The people associated with those times include Julius Caesar, Octavian, Hadrian, and many more. Among some of the structures left behind, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon, and other dozens of churches are considered historic gems. While foodies enjoy the scrumptious Italian food fare (not to mention the gelato), art enthusiasts relish the trove of art found at the Vatican Museums. And despite the fact that its momentous past is the focus of attention for many vacationers, this city is also a modern, relevant, and fast-paced delight.
Milan
Milan is a city in Italy which is its fashion and design capital. It will offer you a global cosmopolitan outlook, vibrant restaurants and bars, and a wide range of hotels suitable for all budgets. While there are multiple buildings of the city that have spectacular interior courtyards remaining largely undiscovered, many historical edifices are seated cheek-by-jowl with modern skyscrapers. Be that as it may, what largely draws tourists here is the city's excellent shopping centers. You will find designer stores lining the Quadrilatero D'Oro district. Along with that, high street shops, boutiques, and outlets are likely to be found in all corners of the city.
In many minds, this city is most definitely defined by only its famous fashion brands, or perhaps, the La Scala opera house. But what you don't know is that it is also a great place for cultural trips. Apart from the opera, there are many other superb art museums here, including the Brera. It is known to hold one of the best collections of Renaissance art in Italy. Moreover, the Brera also houses the legacy of Leonardo da Vinci, notably his notebooks and the Last Supper. Some of his notebooks are put up on display in the Ambrosiana Library.
Heavy bombing during WWII nearly destroyed Milan. This city has ever since been reconstructed and now shines as one of the richest cities of Europe.
Naples
Naples is the capital of the Campania region based in Southern Italy and is considered one of the busiest metropolitan cities in this country. What this city will offer you is a treasure trove of artworks and beautiful historic sites. If you arrive here, you'll also find a vibrant atmosphere of nightlife venues, shops, and restaurants.
Did you know that a lot of your favorite Italian foods originated from here? These include pizza, parmigiana, and spaghetti. These dishes usually feature locally grown ingredients that are fresh and are taken seriously in Naples. Take my advice, as you explore the area, the nearby famous sites like the Bay of Naples, Naples presents, and Pompeii is an ideal base to stay at.
Pisa
This city named Pisa is among Italy's one of the most visited cities, having a number of things to see and do. We will now mention the main spot in this town. Any guesses? Ah, obviously, it is the Torre pendente, or the leaning tower as known worldwide. Everyone knows that Pisa has a tower which leans. This unique structure named Torre is located in Piazza dei Miracoli, which is among the most beautiful squares in Italy.
After taking as many numbers of pictures as you want, make sure to climb to the top of the belltower. The stairway here is formed of about 300 marble stairs but the view from atop is worth all the sweat. After you arrive right to the top, admire a breathtaking view of the Arno river over the city surrounded by mountains. The sea is visible far in the distance on sunny days.
Galileo Galilei, the famous Italian scientist, was born in Pisa in the year 1654 in the Ammannati House. It is however unfortunate that the house is not open to the public and there is no museum built here in his name. Oh no, don't be disappointed, you can still take some photos of the beautiful façade, followed by a pleasant walk in the Borgo Stretto, the city's oldest street. Pisa can also be defined as a vibrant college town which offers many other spots worth a look.

And the list may never end. But we cannot include everything right? So come, see for yourself, and be beguiled!
