An evolving star in the pharmaceutical industry, India has occupied a covetous spot in the world. It is the third largest pharma industry in the world in terms of volume and the thirteenth by value. There is no denying the fact that the vast and diverse country is now teeming with some of the world’s leading companies such as Sun Pharma, Cipla, Dr. Reddy’s Labs and Lupin. These companies have managed to grab seventy to eighty per cent of the pharmaceutical market space in the country. In addition, according to the recent survey by India Rating, a Fitch Group Company, the country i.e. India is going to achieve a twenty-per cent growth in the near future (expected during 2015 to 2020). It is further estimated that the domestic market would do extremely well during the period of 2015 - 2016 (10-12 per cent) as compared to 2014 – 2015 (9 per cent).

It is a multinational pharma company and the main categories are APIs, Novel Drug Discovery, Branded Formulations, Generis, Biotechnology, etc.
Cipla:
The company was set up in 1935. Cipla is considered as one of the largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology multinational companies of India. Its main categories are formulations and APIs that are manufactured at thirty four most advanced Cipla plants across India.
