Kamshet, a beautiful hill station sited in the Western Ghats, is home to rock-cut caves, Bhairi and Bedsa which are said to be there since 1st century BC. Kamshet has an old and very popular Shiva temple as well.

It is not for nothing that these caves are known to be among the few tourist destinations across the world that are of high importance. Be it the Ajanta’s paintings or Ellora’s carved sculptures, everything about them both is magnificent. 3.      Chilika Lake

Puri’s Chilika Lake can undeniably be called a paradise for the bird-watchers. This destination is also Asia’s biggest internal salt-water lake which is home to several small islands as well. The bewitching sea-view of the beautiful Gopalpur from here is simply unmissable and that alone makes this destination a must-visit.

4.      Bir Billing

If you are an adventure enthusiast or simply a traveller then this one is just for you. This place has some amazing paragliding and trekking sessions to offer. While the former is operational from September through November, the latter happens throughout the year. The area is also popular for the Bir Tea Factory and several ancient Tibetan monasteries.              

5.      Auli

Situated in Uttarakhand’s Himalayan range, Auli is known as India’s one of the best skiing destinations. You can enjoy a panoramic view of this place in every season which comprises of snow-clad mountains, forests, and coniferous trees. If you are a religious person then, near Auli only, Badrinath is situated too which is one of the Char Dhams in India. There you can also explore Ganesha and Vyas caves as well as Vasundhara Falls.

6.      Dhanachuli

Again, a hidden gem of Uttarakhand, Dhanachuli is a village covered with lush greenery and sheer peace. It is located above the sea, at an elevation of 7,000 feet where you find the coniferous trees and subtropical forests that make up for a beautiful view. It is 14 kilometers from Dhari Tehsil’s (Nainital) Mukteshwar Temple.

7.      Sanchi

Popularly known as the land of stupas, this place is quite popular among the tourists. This place is nothing but sheer proof of the Indian culture and heritage and is quite popular for its Buddhist monuments that are known to be among the few oldest Indian stone structures. Declared by UNESCO as one of the World Heritage sites, it was in the 3rd century that the installation of the Great Stupa took place by the Mauryan dynasty’s Emperor, Ashoka.

8.      Murudeshwar

If you are a spiritual person and a Shiva Bhakt then you ought to visit this place as the major attraction of Murudeshwar is a colossal Shiva temple. The place is also home to Lord Shiva’s second tallest statue. Murudeshwar is quite picturesque and is also the connecting point for Netrani which is a popular destination for scuba diving.

9.      Gokarna

Popularly known as the land of golden sands, blue seas and palm trees, this place is perfect for a short trip. It has nature’s beauty in abundance and that is why it is one of the most popular holiday destinations in India. This mesmerizing beauty is situated close to Mumbai, Goa and Bengaluru. If you want to self-drive then too it is a good option as it has well-connected roads with amazing views on the sides.

10.  Bishnupur

Situated in West Bengal, this one is the state’s temple town which reflects an extensive history of the place in its ruins and architecture. If history intrigues you and so does temples that are centuries old, then do plan a short vacation for this place as it is a hub for the same.
