TM Unifi Latest Plan - 30Mbps Broadband

There are brand new UniFi packages available from November 2015 onwards for all TM unifi subscribers.  All subscribers can choose the faster speeds of internet connectivity up to 30Mbps and 50Mbps.

The 30Mbps packages comes in three HyppTV packages

-       HyppTV Aneka or Varnam Pack at the cost of RM179/month

-       Ruby Pack: RM189/month

-       Jumbo Pack: RM209/month

The 50Mbps plan is offered as an add-on at RM50 per month. All prices are not inclusive of GST.  A 6% GST is applicable for all packages.

The main difference for this new Unifi package to the old VIP package is the asymmetrical bandwidth system being used. The previous Unifi VIP plan (VIP5/ VIP10/ VIP20) were using symmetrical speeds. For the symmetrical speeds, one can understand that the upload speed is the same as the download speed.  For example: the VIP 10 plan offers 10Mbps download speed and 10Mbps upload speed.  This essentially means you could download a 100GB file at 10Mbps and at the same time upload another file at 10Mbps speed.  Also different from all other telco companies, TM Unifi’s latest Unifi packages are an asymmetrical bandwidth system.  With bundle, subscribers will the new Unifi 30 Mbps and Unifi 50 Mbps, the allocation is different.  For the 30Mbps get the full 30 Mbps on downstream but will only see 5Mbps for upstream. As for 50Mbps, it’s 10Mbps for uploads.
