TM Unifi coverage in Malaysia

Majority of the internet users in Malaysia are using TM unifi coverage, as the coverage for other high speed fibre broadband is not available for most areas.  The government is now working to improve this situation, where we can expect a faster basic Internet services and higher speeds to become more available in the near future. The coverage area is also going to increase throughout the country, thus high speed internet coverage is to ready for more people.

Malaysia government wanted more people in the rural areas to get the high speed internet also.  Unlike now, most of the high speed internet is available for urban areas.  With the focus to improve the infrastructure to wider area, we can expect bigger internet penetration and coverage area. Once the infrastructure is covering up major areas, the entry-level packages may be provided at a higher speed without charging much more, he said.

Besides expanding Unifi’s network coverage, was the transformation of its frontline touch point such as TMpoint (the one-stop center), call centers and also technicians that deal with customers directly.  Among key initiatives undertaken to enhance customers experience include improved quality of services from end-to-end, operational perfection initiative and operational performance in a holistic end-to-end manner and strengthening direct channels.  Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) aims to expand its Unifi high-speed fibre optic broadband coverage in an effort to provide better services to customers. 

The company also focused on customer centricity which further emphasized the headline key performance indicator which measured customer satisfaction.  TM aims to focus on Unifi coverage and speed while keeping costs low.  TM is doing its best to expand the Unifi coverage through the nation.  But of the obstacles faced by TM in their effort is how certain housing areas and buildings are not friendly to broadband infrastructure even though some of them are relatively new.

Thus, the developers do played important role in such situations. Besides the developers, the demand from the consumers is required too for TM to access whether to invest into broadband deployment in the said area.  Thus for new areas, normally TM will consider installation only after a certain percentage of the consumers started to move in, rather than getting the Unifi Coverage deployed at the area before the neighborhood mature.

For the business community, TM has hoped the added service would prompt more businesses to use UniFi's service.
