Your wedding is a significant turning point in your life. You will not like if something goes wrong at the very last minute. A wedding has many moving parts, so it is easy for something to go out of tune and make a mess. Here are some tips that will help you to finalize your wedding venue and make sure that everything is set for your big day.

Book the Venue

The first step in finalizing a venue for your wedding is to actually book one. This happens after you have looked at multiple venues and is probably about 10 months before your wedding date. At this point of time, you have probably considered several venues at the least, if not talked to some of them personally or over the phone. Pick the one that feels right for you and your significant other. It often happens that in order to book the venue you will be required to put down a small deposit to hold it for your ceremony.

First Confirmation

You will want to have your planner or rehearsal host to finalize reservations about six to seven months before the wedding. You should also remind them to schedule a time with the venue for the rehearsal itself. Ask for the wedding venue to send you an email with confirmation of the date, time, and location of the area you have reserved so that you have it written down.

Provide Seating Chart and RSVPed Number

When you go to meet with the manager of your wedding venue before the date, you need to provide them with an estimated number of people you are planning to host the reception for and how many of them have given confirmation of their arrival for the event. About a month before the event, when you start receiving the RSVPs come back, you should let the venue in-charge know how many people have replied back on a positive note. That way they are ready for you and you don't get a hiccup at the very last moment.

Double Check Your Date

It is always a good idea to double check your date with the wedding venue, about a week in advance. For this, you can either contact the venue in-charge and make sure they have the right date and time down in their booking calendar. By now you should have been in fairly constant communication, but it is always a good idea to do one final check. They will understand that you want your big day to go off without a hiccup.
