The reason being, handmade gifts made especially for baby top the list of favourite presents mum receive at their baby showers. This is largely due to the face that mums feel they were made with love.

Online shopping is exploding at the minute, gone are the days of high street shopping. Mum can always find a spare 5 minutes in between feeds, sleeps, baths, nappy changes to browse online and place her order.

3.  Baby Blankets to keep baby warm and cosy

Baby blankets score highly with mums who'd had baby showers. For some, a beautiful personalised baby blanket from an online celeb boutique, combining affordability with luxury could mean the best present ever received. Plus, the blankets can be cosy fleece material or soft cotton. Baby will be so happy wrapped up.

4.  Treats for mum

Please don’t forget about mum.  As so many people do at baby showers. After all, mum deservers a gift too for all her hard work.

Gift hampers that contain necessities such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, lipbalm, personalised hair towels work great. When mum does have a spare minute, she can go get pampered.

A paid for weekend away with their partner after baby is born is another amazing gift. Mum will be delighted and will definitely thank you for this gift.  You could couple this gift up with a useful gift hamper for mum that mum could take with her on the trip.

You could do ever better and offer to be a truster baby sitter for baby when mum and dad decided to leave baby for the 1st time. Be prepared for a lot of phone calls though to check up on baby.

Other gifts for mum include a bottle of champagne, it doesn’t have to cost the earth. Mums favourite bottle of wine perhaps, along with some chocolates.

5. Nappies and baby wipes

Buying nappies and wipes probably sound a bit dull and boring. However, they are so useful and they will get used. A month's supply of nappies and baby wipes rates highly as a baby shower present. So, I’ve put it in my top 5 baby shower gifts.

The amount of nappies and wipes that  new baby goes through is unreal, you can never ever have enough. Mum and dad will probably be more delighted to receive some nappies and wipes that a lot of other impractical, ill-fitting outfits and gifts other people buy.
