Tips for A Simpler, Happier and a Longer Life

by Neha V. Blogger

How long do you think you will live? Wouldn’t you want to outlive that person next to you? While everyone wishes to live forever or to look forever young, several reports on life expectancies show that the life expectancy numbers are going nowhere but down. Whether you are one of the best lawyers in Toronto or not, you may want to read these tips on happiness, longevity, and good health. Let’s get right into it:

1.       Have a ‘no-shoes-inside policy.’

Of all the countries of the world, Scandinavia has the highest number of happy people who are living longer than the rest of us. One of the habits/ practices common with Scandinavian home is that all shoes stay outside.  And, it makes sense. The shoes you went to work with are full of dirt, city grossness, rain, and snow. Do you want to drag all that filth into your home?

The other reason why it makes sense to leave your shoes outdoors is that it signifies comfort. Kicking off the dirty shoes and walking barefoot or wearing comfy shoes is the ultimate sign of relaxation and the feeling of being home.

2.       Eat more butter

Now, don’t start throwing stones. Real butter is a healthier alternative to margarine. It is also tastier, leaves you satisfied, and some studies show that intake of dairy fat can lower your risk of obesity.

3.       Hit the sauna

This is more than a luxury to indulge in every few months or years. For a relaxed, happy life and youthfulness, you should take those sauna treatments more seriously. Immersing your body in a hot steam bath unclogs your pores, clears sinuses, and it relaxes the muscles.

For the best effects, infuse your bath with some ginger, vapor rub, garlic cloves. With these health benefits, you should take more seriously the spa treatments.

4.       Drink less alcohol

Even though you may want to drink yourself silly every weekend, always put your liver in your thoughts. You will not just save money but also lead a healthier life when you drink less.

If you are a heavy drinker already, you should try drinking only on specific days. You should not buy alcohol and keep it in the house every day.

If you are looking for great date ideas, get creative. Have you thought of hiking, swimming, going for a walk in the park, or meeting for coffee and pastries? These may seem off when you are used to drinking on dates, but you’ll get accustomed to it.

5.       Eat more fish and berries

You need to eat more fish because fish is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, a great source of energy. The omega-3 fats are also essential for improved brain function and performance.

On the other hand, you need berries they rich in vitamin C and antioxidants necessary for youthful skin, great hair and a healthy heart.

6.       Bad weather isn’t an excuse

You shouldn’t use the bad weather as a reason why you shouldn’t exercise because there is workout gear for all kinds of weather, and you can have an indoor gym as well.

Lastly, your largest meal of the day should be breakfast. Keep it healthy.
