Pangong Tso is also known as Pangong Lake is situated in the Himalayan region at a height of 4350 m. It is an endorheic lake and it extends to Tibet from India. About 60% of the Lake’s length is in Tibet. During winters, this lake gets frozen completely despite of being the saline water. There is a very less micro-vegetation in the lake due to brackish water. There is a report that this lake has no aquatic life or fish. Tourists witness some of the gulls and ducks on the surface of the lake. This lake also acts as a breeding area for large number of birds that are migratory.
