Kurtis are the most versatile attire worn by Indian women. They wear it to work and college, to parties and gathering and so on. However, choosing a kurti is not as easy as it seems. You need to choose one which will last you for a long time and will also suit you according to your body type. 1.       Choose according to your body type – Each body is different and there is a distinct style of kurti for each body type. If you are more on the fat side, avoid any kurti which has heavy work on its top. If you are lean, choose a kurti which has long sleeves and an embroidered bottom. If you have an hourglass shape, choose a dark colored kurti.

2.       Choose according to your complexion – the color of your apparel matters a lot to your overall look. It should complement your overall skin tone. If you have a dark complexion, choose a light color kurti. If you are fair, choose a dark color. If you are wheatish, you can opt for a colorful kurti.

3.       Select the fabric according to the occasion – We don’t think a cotton kurti would look great at a wedding or a crepe kurti at work. Be very careful about the material because sometimes the occasion requires a specific kind of material. For daily wear, you can always choose cotton but for a wedding, party or festival, you should a luxury material such as crepe, velvet or chiffon which has a rich effect.

4.       Select according to the available leggings at home – Now unless you are willing to buy a new pair of leggings too along with the kurti, do not buy one without considering the colors available for leggings in your wardrobe. A yellow kurti will not go with a blue legging!

5.       Keep a budget in mind – Have a fixed budget in mind to avoid any confusion while choosing one.
