The invention of the modern piano goes back to 1700, when an Italian maker of musical instruments Bartolomeo Cristofori created a four-octave clavichord. Cristofori piano enable to control the volume, but the sound was not loud enough for large performances. Further on, he created a stringed instrument with a hammer to strike the string. However, the instrument was still much quieter in comparison with modern pianos.
