Things That Men Did Not Know About Formal Clothing
by Divya S. Content WriterThe term formal has changed to a large extent over a period of time. Formal Clothes For
Men are often associated with office wear only. However, formal clothing is
required for business meetings, office wear and also some events like weddings
and receptions. Basically any social gathering requires formal wear unless it
is a beach party. For most men, dressing up formally means wearing a black suit
with a white shirt and a tie and with some nice looking shoes. However, the formal
wear scenario has become much more fashionable with the current generation and
there have been a lot many changes.
What is formal wear?
Formal Dress
For Men is largely misunderstood by people. Dressing up formally does not
mean wearing a suit and a tie, it means a higher dress code which is suave and
yet presentable. Most men barely have such clothes in their wardrobe. There are
some unspoken rules of dressing up formally.
Men’s Formal
Wear Style does not mean looking like James Bond. If you really want to
look stunning then there are some rules to follow while wearing a suit. Pay
some attention to your clothing as much you pay to your abs. Here are some
rules:
Rule # 1: Leave the last button of your suit open always and it just
looks good that way. This is an unspoken rule and should not be questioned.
Rule # 2: Unbutton your suit while sitting down and it is suit
manners. The logic is when a person sits down the wait is transferred to the
upper body and makes them look fatter. Unless you want to look like a stuffed
potato, just unbutton your suit.
Rule # 3: Always button the shirt at the top and then wear your tie.
If you feel like choking then change the shirt. But a suit does not look
complete if the shirt is not buttoned at the top.
Rule # 4: Now there is a thing about accessories and formal suits. The
suit looks perfect but the person wearing it is still wearing a sports watch or
a Fitbit. That looks bad and miserable and spoils the entire look. Always wear
a formal watch with a suit for any occasion that is due.
Rule # 5: Pocket squares look best with dark colored suits. They look
smart and also add that contrast to the suit.
Trends of formal wear
These days, formal wear are all about sleek and slim fit. Nobody wears
those baggy pants with a suit anymore. The trends in formal wear is always
changing and forever emerging. A formal wear can be for any occasion like
office meetings, conferences, business meetings or a wedding. However, not
every occasion demands a formal suit like official meeting. For office meetings,
business meetings and conferences one has to wear that well fitted suit is the best formal dresses
for men. However, for an event like a wedding or a wedding reception, one
can choose from variations.
For a wedding, consider wearing a slim fit pair of pants and team it
up with a shirt with a Chinese collar. This way you can skip the tie and also
these days there are several kinds of shirts available with Chinese collar and
there are some fancy and jazzy ones too. For any type of formal wear, the shoes
and watch that you wear matter. Please get rid of that exercise watch as there
is no need for you to count calories at a social event. The shoes need not
always be black!
