One of the biggest components of any wedding is the wedding photography. Hopefully, you are only going to get married once in your lifetime. More than likely, you are only going to get married to that person once in your lifetime. The point is that before you can even begin to choose a photographer, you need to know the style of photography you are looking for. Here are some of the many different styles.

 

Digital

One of the first things that you are going to have to decide is if you want digital pictures or film. Nowadays, digital is used more often. The biggest advantage of this is that you can have your wedding pictures in just a few days following your wedding. More than likely, you will have them in your hand by the time you return from the honeymoon.  Digital cameras are able to shoot in very low light, meaning they are the perfect choice if you are choosing to get married in the afternoon or the evening. Digital cameras also come with a display screen, allowing you the chance to preview the shots and have them redone if you so choose. You also are generally going to have more photos to choose from than what is provided by film.

 

Film

When images are shot with thefilm they have a more organic feel to them. The film provides a better range. However, shooting with film costs more and means that more work has to be done. Processing the pictures and editing them is going to take much longer when thefilm is used. You also have to purchase a lot of film in order to shoot such a big event as a wedding.

 

Classic

Another style of wedding photography is the classic style. After you have chosen whether or not you are going to use film or have digital pictures taken, it’s time to decide how you want your pictures to look. Classic images are formal and tend to last over time. They reflect reality, but also have an artistic quality to them. Many photographers can take the classic style and provide a modern twist so that your photos are timeless and unique all at once.

 

Artistic

The artistic style is exactly what the name says it is. The pictures are creative and innovative. The more willing you are to enjoy the process, the more the photographer can do with your pictures. You don’t have to have every single picture of everyone posed and looking at the camera.

 

Lifestyle

Lifestyle photography is a lot like journalism, just with pictures instead of words. These are candid photos that are taken with minor redirection. This means that moments will happen and the photographer will tweak the scene to make the perfect picture.
