The Z12 was fitted with a 1.5L HR15DE naturally aspirated engine and other optional engines: 1.6L HR16DE, 1.8L MR18DE, and 1.5L K9K dCi diesel engine paired with a CVT, 4-speed automatic, 5-speed manual, or 6-speed manual transmissions.
