The Gurez Valley offers stunning scenery throughout the year, but the months of May, June, and September may be the most ideal times to visit. Are these the right dates for you? Find out more here. Cliffhangers India will provide you a short guide about best time to visit Gurez Valley.

For the adventurous traveler, Gurez Valley is an ideal place to explore. While many tourists opt to stay within the more popular areas of Kashmir, such as Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Pahalgam, those who are seeking a less crowded and unique experience can venture to Gurez. Although it is still in the process of being developed as a tourist attraction, in the years to come, Gurez Valley is sure to become a go-to destination.

Best time to Visit Gurez Valley

The optimal times to visit Gurez Valley are during April and September, when the weather is most pleasant. January and February are the best months to experience snow, but you need to travel to Gurez by air.

May and June can be hot, making sightseeing uncomfortable in the daytime. The monsoon period usually runs from July to the first week of September, meaning that a road trip is possible, but you should check the forecast to ensure you don't get caught in a snowstorm.

In October, Razdan Pass can be prone to snowfall, meaning that the road to Gurez Valley can be temporarily closed, making it an unsafe time to travel.

April and September are the best for a family trip, with September being ideal for photography enthusiasts due to the post-monsoon season.

If you want to visit Gurez Valley in winter, the only way to get there is to take a helicopter from either Srinagar or Bandipora. You can purchase tickets at the TRC Srinagar or the DC office in Bandipora.
