The Rise in the Popularity of Penile Enlargement Surgery

by John Robbins Consultant
Over the last few years penile enlargement surgery has become increasingly popular with men in the UK. For a long time, women opted for breast enlargement, and it was something that was talked about freely and openly, in part because breast enlargement is a highly visible thing, where penile enlargement surgery is less obvious, except to the partner of the man who has it.

The culture is changing, though, and now men who are feeling insecure about their penises are opting to do something about it - especially since there are now affordable and comparatively safe surgery options to help them to get longer or to add girth.

Modern penile enlargement surgery options are safer, in many ways, than breast implants, since they are less invasive and they can be done without synthetic implants. For example, penoplasty allows people to get longer manhoods by cutting the ligament at the base of the penis, potentially adding up to two inches in length.

Another interesting option is to use injections to add girth. With this kind of penoplasty, the surgeon uses liposuction to take some fat from the thigh, belly or buttock of the patient, and then injects it into the patient's penis to add girth. The girth will be noticeable both when the penis is flaccid and when it is erect.

There is the possibility that the fat will die off after the transplant, but in most cases it will adjust to its new location and will be accepted by the body. It is certainly a safer and more likely to work option than a traditional implant because even if the cells do not thrive, the patient cannot be allergic to their own fat, so there should be no adverse symptoms.

Penis girth can also be increased with the use of approved dermal fillers and is the least invasive method with minimal downtime. It is advisable to locate a penis enlargement clinic with the correct experience to ensure a happy outcome.

The recovery time for this kind of surgery is quite quick. After the procedure, the patient will be advised not to exercise for a while, and also to avoid driving for a week afterwards. This is a relatively quick healing time compared to the time that people will be faced with for other cosmetic surgeries.

Penile enlargement surgery is generally safe, and well tolerated. There is always some risk with any kind of surgery, since it involves cutting the skin which can cause issues with skin infections. However, the risk is minimal with this compared to other more invasive procedures.  The surgery should not affect sensitivity or sexual performance either.

This surgery is an opportunity for people to get more confidence, and for people to improve their love lives or their dating lives. It is not something that a lot of people talk about or broadcast, although it is becoming less of a taboo now than it used to be. More men are talking about it, and more men are opting to have cosmetic procedures performed. It may be decades before it becomes a mainstream idea but now that it is affordable and safe, it is becoming an increasingly viable option, and one that your lover will appreciate as well.
