The IELTS general training in Mumbai test is
used for non-academic functions, like immigration visas or professional
licenses. The examination includes four sections, or "papers," on
reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
The
speaking and listening sections on the are identical to the analogous parts of
the IELTS academic test, but the IELTS general
training test does include different reading and writing sections.
Scoring for the IELTS General training test
IELTS general training test is based on the
"band" system, which awards a score of 0 to 9 in half-point
increments for every paper. The total band score is the average of all four
paper scores, rounded up or down to the nearest half-point. Listening and
reading band scores are derived from the number of correct answers, that IELTS
refers to as "raw scores." Band scores for the speaking and writing
papers are calculated according to the assessments of human graders. The
marking procedure for the general training test is identical to the academic
test, apart from the reading paper.
According
to IELTS, the reading exercises on the academic test are more advanced than
those who appear on the same section of the general training test, and this can
be reflected in the sectional score conversions: "Commonly, a more
significant number of questions should be adequately answered on a General
training Reading test to secure a given band score.
For example, 30 correct answers (out of 40) is
correlative to a band score of 7 on the academic test's reading section, but 34
questions should be adequately answered on the reading paper of the general
training test to receive an equivalent band score of 7.
