The Internet is Not a Get Rich Quick Opportunity
Just starting on the internet always brings a frenzy of expectations about how fast you can make tons of money on auto pilot without lifting a finger. After almost ten years of struggling, I have a better idea about what did not work for me, and what finally works. Stop Buying Every Program that Promises How to Get Rich.
In the beginning, I bought ebooks, photocopied and bound them and read them meticulously. Most of the time, the information was too technical. I vividly remember one ebook trying to get me set up a website. I wondered what in the world Akismet plug in was. I called the technical or support service provided. Needless to say, I am yet to get a response from them.
Avoid Information Overload
When you buy every ebook that looks promising, and sign up on any website that looks promising, you will end up with conflicting information, too much information, and a paralyzing inability to process all that. Unless you know what you are doing, refrain from jumping on any and all programs. You will get confused.
The Mixed Blessings of Recurrent Monthly Charges
Most people trying to make money online for the first time are broke. There are credit card debts and there are bills to pay. The temptation to sign up on any site with the hope of making some money is there. When the site turns out not to be as promising as it sounded in the beginning, getting them to stop charging your card becomes a real problem. Of course if the site is profitable, then you want your card there to maintain your membership.
You Do Not Need to Build a Website
Struggling to build a website is something I will caution against. From experience, you cannot do it as well as a professional. It is time consuming and frustrating UNLESS you really know what you are doing. When the guru who is teaching you persuades you to take out hosting for two years, he gets his commission up front. When you abandon the website project out of frustration, your guru loses nothing.
Be Civil to Your Social Media Friends
Our friends should not be bombarded every day with our business opportunities. it is more appropriate and you see better results by one on one recruitment than link spamming.
Look for Low Cost or Zero Investment Opportunities
My advise to all aspiring and seasoned online entrepreneurs is to start with zero investment opportunities. These are opportunities where you do not have to spend money to make money. Sounds too good to be true? Here is one example and I can guarantee you will make money within 10 minutes of signing up. You do not need your credit card. You do need a paypal account when you sign up so they can pay you.
Finally, Wisdom and Common Sense Come in Handy
Be engaged only in things you are comfortable with. Rushing into a niche because it is selling is never very wise. While we all want to make money, we need to keep our online business activities consistent with our values.
To your success
