important part of everyone's life. Mental health is to be considered a
significant part of living a healthy as well as balanced life. According
to a survey conducted by world health organization, it was stated that above
450 million people around the world suffer from some kind of mental illness.
Years ago mental
illness used to be considered something to be ashamed of. But as we are
advancing in the field of psychology, it has been made clear that mental
illness is just like other physical illnesses. Brain is a biological organ
which can form illness such as your heart to your lungs. The research is also
being made for using psychedelic
medicines in order to treat severe mental health issues such as
anxiety depression, PTSD etc.
Mental Illnesses
Depression is the
most common mood disorder when it comes to mental illnesses. Any person can
suffer from depression, even kids. Kids can be in a bad mood as well as sadness
for the time being but sometime this feeling of sadness and worthlessness can
be prolonged and result in depression.
Depression can also
occur in kids due to their negative thinking and low self esteem. Sometimes we
are adults being hard on a kid for some or the other reason and we can be
more focused on the faults rather than the good behavior. This can make kids
focusing on their problems and faults and being self-critical. The feeling of
not being good enough can push kids into major depression.
Depression in kids
can interfere with their energy, sleep, concentration as well as their
appetite. The kids will start to give up easily and will be tired all the time.
So it is important to take your kid to a good psychologist who can help them
with psychotherapy and by giving them depression meds for
kids.
