This is the case with architecture, because every construction is the architect’s masterpiece. Being unique is what makes you different from others. Even if you are specialized, for example, in healthcare, it can reflect your style. You have to project it in terms that are demanded from you, but having it done in to the best of your creativity can rate you pretty high on the marketplace. Doing an excellent job is the best promotion, but as marketplace is full with new firms, companies and brands, you might need to make some effort to promote your firm by developing a marketing strategy. Today, almost in every profession you have to have a marketing strategy in order to succeed and be recognized, especially in architecture and art in general. The competition among architectural firms is big and in order to survive you have to follow new trends and promote your qualities. Nobody can figure out anything about your firm unless you present it.

Hire a marketing team!

you are a new firm, or you just can’t cope with the competition, you
should hire professional people to do the marketing for you. It isn’t an
easy job to make a marketing strategy, promote and present your firm.
That takes a lot of time and work and, because of that, you need people
who are specialized in marketing, and have an impressive portfolio to
show (example).
You provide the project and ideas and the marketing team supports and
promotes your work. They will make a marketing plan according to your
budget and the number of connections that they will establish will make
your firm better-rated on the marketplace. There are a lot of firms with
great projects and ideas, which is why the committee members need to
hear something more about your firm and work in general and the project
itself. Marketing team will firstly work on presenting your firm. They
will make a detailed portfolio and work on your promotion which includes
having a detailed website, appearance in media and organizing
architectural events. By promoting your firm or company not only can you
have more success when applying for some project, but you can also meet
a lot of new people who might be potential future clients and some
investors.
Do the first steps by yourself!
There are some marketing steps that you can do by yourself, without hiring a marketing team. Of course, it is better if they do that, but if you can’t afford a marketing team at the beginning of your firm’s development, then you have to be decisive. Make sure that, when forming a budget, you save enough money to be able to hire a marketing team.
-First step:
The name of your firm has to be catchy and don’t forget to give the
information that the firm’s field is architecture, because sometimes
when you hear the name you have no clue as to what that firm does.
-Second step:
Define your position, what your firm is, what it does, for whom and to
what benefit. This means that you cannot say that your architectural
firm does everything. You may be capable, but in order to succeed you
have to define a field that you are specialized in. People have much
more confidence when choosing a firm that is specialized in one or more
fields, because they assume that the firm has a lot of experience in
that field. By defining what you do, you are identifying your clients.
Don’t forget to say what the benefits are if the client chooses your
firm.
-Third step:
Appear in the media! If you want people to notice you, you have to be
present in the media. Make a commercial for television and have an
article about your firm in newspapers or magazines, or just make an
advertisement in newspapers.
-Fourth step:
Make a webpage! You can be sure that people will search for some more
information on the Internet once they see your advertisement. Make a detailed marketing-oriented web page
that will consist of some basic information about your firm and the
team, portfolio which includes your previous work and a contact number
or an e-mail.
-Fifth step: Make a presentation about some project or your firm and organize event where people can get to know your work and the team.
