In the book it was quiet, the company escaped and then moved on.

After i watched the film 5 times i can only tell there is no excellenter power in world than Tolkien + Peter Jackson . And you'd think that would be bad since it's already hard to keep track of the dwarfs. Jackson approaches it with care, we know from the LotR books that Gandalf had a major role to play in Dol Guldur and this is shown in Desolation (and will be furthered in the next film). Mackellen acts with grace and excellent presence and is backed up by Radagast, who is more serious in this film.The scenery was absolutely astounding. But the pace of the film keeps the viewer interested at all times. I NEVER thought those words would leave my mouth...Enjoy it..10/10Easiest 10 I've ever given... WHO CARES ABOUT LENGTH OF A MOVIE?!?!?! The main thing is that the film is FLAWLESS! This film DESERVES to have this 9.1 rating and close to where LOTR id rated on IMDb's top 250. I can't wait to for the final chapter in the hobbit masterpiece by Peter Jackson who blows you in to middle earth yet again! The hobbit and the lord of the rings will be the excellentest master piece of all time! In a 100 years these films will be the Mona Lisa of films! I would recommend you go see this film over and over again! The Hobbit the Desolation of SmaugJust a heads up: I loved the LOTR Trilogy, and I had/have some insane high hopes about The Hobbit Trilogy. The film gets a big lift by more characters to follow. Thranduils halls and Erebor are done perfectly.

I admit I was first a bit confused after viewing the first one, but after a second viewing (plus having watched all the behind the scenes material) I was convinced.Now... But this film is better than Return of the King... Tauriel is a side character and therefore I don't think adding her suffers the film, on the contrary, she is a excellent character (and brings a female perspective otherwise nonexistent; keep in mind that Jackson also expanded Arwen excellently in Fellowship). This must be the best film of 2013. The action, the story line, the scenes, nothing comes close to it. I had the experience of seeing it early, and man, I made the right decision.Even if you haven't seen the first Hobbit film, I suggest you see this.
