The main focus of the DOT is to keep Americans as safe as possible. Before we outline the nitty gritty behind the DOT guidelines and drug testing policies, I want to first address medical marijuana. Even with the recent legalization in some of our states, you cannot show a positive test result for marijuana. It does not matter that your doctor may have prescribed it. The idea behind it is that our Federal Government believes the operators will be more of a danger and hazard for the American public.
