The Gameplay of Fantasy Basketball App Development

by Melissa Hayes Game Developer

These days, most of the sports are complemented by a fantasy sporting application. In a game that has a fan following and rage like basketball, fantasy sports applications are bound to engage users and bring in profits.

At this juncture, we are called to look at two aspects. One is about the growth of basketball on a worldwide scale and the other is about the fantasy applications opening avenues for a new and lucrative business opportunity.

The Gameplay

A fantasy sports user will create a team consisting of real players. They are given a budget within which they will need to buy players. Each player has a certain price tag. The players should be in a certain combination - for basketball, it has to be 1 point guard, 1 shooting guard, 1 guard, 1 small forward, 1 power forward, 1 forward, 2 centers, 2 utilities, and 2 injured.

Based on the performance of the players in the real game, the fantasy team players are awarded points. The user who accumulates the highest amount of points is declared the winner.

The different types of leagues and games:

There are free leagues and paid leagues available In fantasy basketball. The free leagues are free to play but they might require credits to get players for your team. You do not stand a chance to win prizes in free leagues.

However, in paid leagues, the users will not only need to pay from the credits to purchase players but will also pay an entry fee to enter the league.

There are two types of games as well. One is prize-enabled and the other is standard free. Both the games are equally interesting to play. However, if someone is a newbie, they might want to consider playing the free game first. This will help them get the hang of the gameplay and gain the essential experience.

Once they have mastered the techniques, they can be a part of the prize pool in the prize-enabled option. The entry fee can be anywhere between $5 and $500.

The league type can be either rotisserie or head to head. Both the league types have a maximum of 12 teams in a League and are similar in many aspects. However, in the rotisserie type, the count of maximum games per position is capped at 82.
