The Evolution of Entertainment During The Years.

by Molly E. Writer

Entertainment has been a big part of people's lives long before the invention of technology. It's very hard to pinpoint when exactly people started to enjoy more things in the time they were not working but researchers say that it might have been as early as the first people on Earth.

It is presumed that the earliest entertainment comes from when people used to tell stories via drawing pictures in the caves. It is not exactly known if this was used as actual entertainment but it is extremely possible that it might have been one of the only ways you could spice up the otherwise boring lives.

With the progress of civilization more complex ways of entertaining started gaining popularity, with people becoming more creative and mostly performing by telling funny stories, jokes and dancing in a way that will entertain others. For a long time, entertainment was preferred by the rich as they were the ones having free time while the working class was busy with working on the field and taking care of animals.

After that arts such as painting and theater became more and more popular during the Middle ages, even among the working class as there were many people who enjoyed having a public more than getting payed. In fact, theater was once considered something for the working class as rich people didn't even want to go and mingle in the streets or or in theaters with the peasants.

Nowadays, entertainment is far more diverse and reliant on technology than in the past. It is getting harder and harder for people to get amused by the old-fashioned arts as they usually take a lot of time to be prepared and we require entertainment in the moment on demand.

Even games, like roulette that were played by people in the 17th century are now available online on gaming sites and presented by live dealers. It really is fascinating when you think how everything now can be transferred on devices and on the Internet. Things that our predecessors could never even imagine in their most crazy dreams.
