The empowered women of today!
by Sam Smart Digital Marketing ManagerWomankind, a
global women's rights organisation released a surprising fact about women's
global average wage-gap. It was astonishing to see that the max average that a
woman earns is about 75% of men's wages. Equality needs begin from economic
independence and giving women professionals their due for equal work as men,
which is step one for society's long-term goal for eradicating gender
discrimination. This Women's Day, let's all be the strength of our women, in
her fight for freedom.

Belgium, Denmark,
France, Latvia, Luxembourg or Sweden are the only countries that have
incorporated equal work laws for all genders. In an index that measured 8
indicators that influence women's economic decisions- from freedom of movement
and employment to entrepreneurship and pension- only these countries scored the
highest in gender equality. Isn't it time that we learnt from them and
empowered our women to fight for their freedom too?

Women's Forum came with a shocking fact in
2018 that over 50 million women are still uneducated and unemployed. How can
we, as a society, aim to progress and flourish if women aren't given the same
space of expression and contribution as men? It's time we clear the space for
them to own their lives and their bodies, and be their strength to fight and be
free.

Breaking the Stigma!
The monthly period
that takes upon an average of 5-7 days, cumulatively takes up between 4 to 10
years of a woman's life. And that includes PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome), and
many other menstruation-related diseases like Premenstrual Dysphonic Disorder
(PMDD). Caring for her health and freeing her from the stigmas surrounding her
intimate healthcare is a priority we can't miss out on, as a society. Her
freedom to fight her health issues is her right.

Intelligence has no
Gender!
Marilyn Vos Savant
(American Author, Columnist, Lecturer and Playwright; IQ score: 228) and Judit
Polgar (Hungarian Chess Grandmaster; IQ score: 170) were recorded in history as
women among the highest IQ score holders alongside Stephen Hawking and Albert
Einstein. For when women fight the world with intellect and strength, they
always prove to be nothing less than the best.

Educating to empower!
A 2011 UNICEF analysis
of education and future earning capacity of a girl child clearly voiced out how
important education is, for a woman to be independent and be free in her own
right. Because when a woman is free, she fights stronger.
