The Clorox Automatic Toilet Bowl Cleaner or Destroyer?

by Dorothy Watson Best Toilet Maker

Cleaning a toilet is a dirty job. It’s one of the worst jobs in the house, and one that no one is going to jump for joy over having to do. Luckily, there are many products on the market that make it so you don’t have to clean your toilet, the product does it all for you, every time you flush. Of course, the leading product in the market comes from Clorox, the company that is well known for its cleaning products and its ability to get the dingiest and dirtiest spots in your house sparkling clean. The Clorox automatic toilet bowl cleaner might be made by Clorox, a name you can trust, but this particular product should be avoided at all costs.

Does the Clorox Automatic Toilet Bowl Cleaner Destroy Toilets?

Unfortunately, this tablet destroys the toilet it’s busy cleaning. From eating the rubber flapper (they don’t lie when the label says it has a strong oxidizing agent in it) to a strong awful bleach scent, this product is less than satisfactory. And worse yet, what you may not know is that use of such a product can actually void your warranty on your toilet. They aren’t lying when they say it eats the grime and dirt in your toilet, they simply fail to mention it will eat everything else in your toilet as well.

If you’re big into water conservation, or simply don’t like paying super expensive water bills, you’ll be better off reaching for a normal cleaner that requires a little elbow grease. The time and effort you put into cleaning your toilet yourself will save you the massive headache that will come later once you’ve used and destroyed your toilet by using the Clorox automatic toilet bowl cleaner.

The Clorox Toilet Cleaner is Bad for the Environment as Well

That’s just the start too! Think of how badly you’re damaging the environment with every flush. If the chemicals can do that much damage to a toilet meant to withstand daily use, imagine what it is doing to the earth. Instead you should reach for a product like the Clorox Green Works Natural Toilet Cleaner. It’s cheaper, won’t destroy your toilet (and bank account in the process) and won’t pump harmful chemicals into the water table. Yes, it works, and the best part is that you can feel better using a product that’s safe for the environment and safe for your toilet as well.

Flush the Clorox Automatic Toilet Bowl Cleaner to avoid the Headaches

Overall, the Clorox automatic toilet bowl cleaner is not worth a flush. The amount you’ll pay in the long run is nowhere near worth the time you might save by using this automatic cleaner. You’re going to have to get down and dirty and scrub that toilet by hand if you really want the sparkling clean results you’re looking for, and at a cost you can afford.
