The christian understanding of prayer pt 1

This is still our month of prayer and restoration, Pastor Chris has taught me about studying the bible to study the original version too and this has taught me so much when I was studying about Prayer the first thing that came to me was the Greek version of prayer then I got 3 words but I chose this. Proseuche for prayer and Proseuchomai for praying, it is used so many times around 127 times in the New Testament

Now proseuche is a compound word created by two Greek words Pros and euche. Pros: means a sense of closeness. It is used to portray intimate relationship with God. Another form of the word Pros is the word is with as used in John 1:1. In the beginning was the word and the word was with God. In this context the word means face to face. So in the beginning the word and the word was (Face to face with) God. The next word is euche this word means a wish, desire, or vow to God. Prayer should bring us face to face and into close contact with God. It is a train to take us to a place we may enjoy a close, intimate relationship with God.

So with this in mind w-e should always enjoy our prayer time. This is a time you should desire to have daily. What a blessing to directly communicate with God. This reminds me of a post I shared last week on fb; Christianity is not a religion we communicate to the living God. 1st peter 3:12 for the eyes of the lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the lord is against them that do evil. So He listens to our prayer and so does he answer them.

Someone asked me “hey Moses how come you pray that long?” You know understanding the meaning of the prayer will change how you view prayer. Swahili version of prayer kuomba means to ask so many people take prayer to be asking for forgiveness and asking for something. Friends prayer is more than that, I ask less in my prayer. That is why I always encourage my friends to pray in tongues more often because I was also encouraged by my pastors and friends It is more than that. In prayer our spirits are refreshed, upgrade… build up yourself Jude 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith praying in the Holy Ghost.
