The Canon Imageprograf GP-2000 And GP-4000 Are Both Highly Impressive CG Design Printers.

by Liz Seyi Digital marketing manager

Are you presently comparing wide-format printers, and would you appreciate a machine capable of high-quality computer graphics (CG) design printing with vivid colour quality, and characterised by innovative print technology? If so, you could not hope to choose a superior device to the 24-inch Canon ImagePROGRAF GP-2000 or the 44-inch GP-4000 now available at Prizma Graphics.

Canon, of course, has long been renowned for its large-format graphics printers that are as technologically sophisticated and reliable as they are easy to use on a day-to-day basis.

The situation is no different with these latest wide-format printers, which are both 11-colour devices using LUCIA PRO pigment ink. Among those inks are five new colours, including fluorescent pink for producing eye-catching neon and pastel shades.

Quick and vibrant print results, and remarkable attention to detail

Much of the chatter about these new Canon ImagePROGRAF wide-format printers has focused on their fluorescent capabilities and generally broad colour gamut; the GP-2000 and GP-4000 both use no fewer than five newly developed colours. These devices are also the world’s first PANTONE calibrated printers for PANTONE PASTEL & NEON GUIDE Coated, in addition to 99% coverage from the PANTONE FORMULA GUIDE Solid Coated.

But you probably won’t be buying either of these printers purely on the strength of their head-turning print results. That’s because they are also machines you can depend on for the utmost productivity, thanks largely to their smart roll paper and multifunction roll capabilities. They even have hot swap ink tanks that allow ink to be replaced without interruption to the printing process.

It’s no wonder, then, that the 24-inch GP-2000 offers a 59-second print speed when plain A1 paper is used; the 44-inch GP-4000, meanwhile, can produce printouts on plain A0 paper in a mere 97 seconds. Both devices use Canon Bubblejet technology, and offer a formidable 2,400 x 1,200 dpi print resolution; perfect for impressing even the most discerning observers when it comes to all things CG printing.

With the other features of these devices that users are sure to find invaluable encompassing the likes of free-size borderless printing, PosterArtist Lite software, a 500GB encrypted hard drive, PIN-accessed security, and much more, these truly are wide-format printers for the graphics requirements of the 2020s.
