Guns N’ Roses

This band is a favorite with many music-lovers for the simple reason that their style is pretty much inimitable. This is a band that rocked the music world when they first came out in 1985. Many believe that they were the greatest bands ever. Their debut album was ‘’Appetite for destruction’’ and it was a runaway hit. The band’s downfall happened when Axl, one of the most popular band members, had a sort of a mental breakdown.

Aerosmth

This band wasn’t really formed in the 80’s but in the 70’s. However, they made a stupendous comeback in 1987 and that is why they are known as a great 80s cover band. They had a huge number of hits including ‘’Rag doll’’, ‘’The other side’’, ‘’What it takes’’, ‘’Amazing’’, ‘’Crazy’’, ‘’Cryin’’, etc.

Motley Crue

This was how hair metal started. There are lots of fans for this 80’s band and some of the most-loved music that came from them were ‘’Girls girls girls’’, ‘’Smokin in the boy’s room’’ and ‘’Dr Feelgood’’. Some people feel that their style and looks are the only things great about them, but that is not true. They made some cool music as well.

Bon Jovi

Named after one of the band members, Job Bon Jovi, this 80s band was very popular starting in the middle of the decade. The lyrics in their songs were all wrong but that didn’t matter, because the music was tremendously popular as fans lapped up the powerful sounds.

Journey

This was another of the great bands of the decade. It is a pretty magnificent band that started in the middle of the 70’s but found their real voice in the beginning of the 1980’s with hits like ‘’Separate ways’’, ‘’Don’t stop believing’’ and ‘’Only the young’’.

Other than the above 80s cover bands, there were many others making significantly good music in that decade. From Talking Heads, to Styx, Metallica to The Police, and Dire Straits to Def Leppard, there were lots of great bands that are still a favorite with people.
