The 2020 Hyundai Venue is the ideal combination of form, function, and fuel economy

by Justin Langer Content Manager

Despite years of success producing value-packed, dependable, and beautiful automobiles, Hyundai isn't as well-known as companies such as Honda and Toyota. That isn't a compliment to the company's quality. In reality, Hyundai has evolved into a manufacturer of some of the most innovative and durable automobiles on the market today. Its most recent models are not just modern and trustworthy; they're also beautiful and packed with sophisticated driver aid systems.

It's Small but Functional

The Hyundai Venue is positioned as a car for young professionals who reside in cities. While that is a plausible persona for the car, it is more functional than that classification would imply. There is 18.7 cubic feet of the room accessible behind the back seats, which increases to 31.9 cubic feet when the seats are folded down. The interior is well-organized, with plenty of storage space, and the rear seat is spacious enough to accommodate a full-size car seat with ease.

It's Packed with Technology

Hyundai crammed an eight-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, frontal collision warnings, pedestrian recognition, lane keep assist, driver attention alerts, and high beam assists into a vehicle that starts around $18,000. That's a lot of technology for practically any vehicle, let alone one with such a low starting price. The Denim trim level adds even more convenience and driver aid technology, including bicycle detection, blind spot monitors, GPS, twin USB ports, and more.

It Isn't Sporty

The Hyundai Venue was offered with a manual gearbox in its initial year, but it didn't make it any more pleasure to drive, and the firm abandoned the function after only one year. All Venue variants now include a continuously variable gearbox to go with the 121 horsepower four-cylinder engine. The combination is okay throughout town, but not for folks who prefer to dart in and out of traffic rapidly. The engine just does not have enough power to get the Venue going with any real hurry. It takes some time to get up to highway speeds, and once there, passing is a pain.

It's comfortable

Small automobiles aren't always the greatest at keeping their occupants comfortable, especially on extended travels. That is not the case with the Hyundai Venue, which has a tiny yet comfortable cabin and everything is put out in an intuitive, rational manner. Tall drivers will have plenty of headroom in the front, even with the optional sunroof fitted, while shorter drivers will have a space to rest their arms. One flaw in the Venue's ergonomics is that extending the seat forward may result in certain shorter drivers having their knees buried in the dash before their feet reach the pedals.

It comes with an excellent warranty

Hyundai and Kia used to provide lengthy warranties to reassure purchasers about the quality of their automobiles. In many situations, warranties were absolutely necessary to avoid costly and frequent repairs, but both firms have improved their quality to the point that warranties are no longer necessary. The Venue, like other Hyundai cars, is covered by a five-year/60,000-mile basic warranty as well as a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
