Still Photography Course Details

The Bachelor of Arts in Still Photography is a three-year Undergraduate course that enables budding photographers to explore the world through the lens of their camera. The curriculum includes fundamental DSLR camera operation, various styles and techniques of photography, and color theory and composition. The second half of the course focuses on personal expression and vision. The focus is on the still image, but students will also have the opportunity to explore the medium of moving images through class assignments. During this course, students learn about the principles of color, composition, editing, and sequencing. They will also develop their own bodies of work and gain self-awareness through drawing, writing, research, and creative assignments.
The third semester includes advanced camera and lighting techniques. Students will learn about conventional lighting tools, portable strobes, and unconventional sources of light. They will also use live capture software called Capture One, which allows them to view and process RAW images on HDTV client monitors in real time. They will also learn about three-point lighting and light shaping tools for still images.
The fourth semester of the course will focus on creative techniques and digital photography. Students will learn how to control different lighting, use different lenses, and make the best photos. They will also gain practical skills that will help them succeed in their professional life. This will help them develop as a person and prepare them to handle the challenges of their career in the field of photography.
