by Geoff Harper Writer
Sexually transmitted infections (STI) also known as a Sexually transmitted disease (STD) can cause a lot of harm if left untreated. There could be severe health problems such as cancer, blindness, infertility, and at times organ damage. Most people are unaware of the harm it can cause. Sometimes, it gets unnoticed as one may not have the symptoms. The only way you can be sure is to get yourself tested. There are many STI clinics in Liverpool where one can get tested.

Who should be tested for STI?

  • If you are a sexually active person, it would be good to do an STI test. STI testing in Liverpool is quite simple. The doctors would guide you through the entire process. Some of the reasons why one would require the test to be done are:
  • If you are getting into a new relationship
  • If you or your partner have had multiple partners or if you have been cheated by your current partner
  • If you and your partner are not planning on using condoms during sex
  • If you fear you may have developed the symptoms of STI

Sometimes, if you have been in a long-term, monogamous relationship, you may not feel the need to get tested. If you and your partner have been loyal to each other, and perhaps have been tested before entering into a relationship with each other it may not be necessary to get the test done. If however, you have never been tested, there is no harm in going to an STI clinic and getting yourself tested, just to be on the safer side. There could be a possibility of one of you carrying undiagnosed STI for years.
