SSC CGL 2016: Know everything about the exam

SSC CGL 2016 – Staff Selection Commission (SSC) was all set to conduct the all important Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination on 08th and 22nd May 2016 but due to certain circumstances, the examination has been postponed to be conducted in the month of August 2016. The examination will be conducted in two tiers and the candidate’s participation in every new level will be subject to their performance in the previous tier of selection. The candidates can fill the Online Application form by visiting the official website of SSC and also through the direct link provided on the website of Entrance Corner. The Application form and the online payment of application have been stopped by the SSC after increasing the deadline of last date twice by 30th March 2016.

Stages of the SSC CGL 2016

The SSC CGL 2016 will be conducted in two stages as against three stages in the previous years. Following will be the two stages of recruitment:

  • Combined Graduate level tier 1 Exam – Preliminary examination to select candidates for the Tier 2 exam.
  • Combined Graduate Level Tier 2 Exam – Main Examination to select candidates for the appointment.

SSC CGL Selection Procedure 2016

Following are the stage which a candidate has to go through sequentially as per the selection process laid down by the Staff Selection Commission. The Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below:

  • Tier -I — Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
  • Tier -II — Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
  • Tier -III — Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification


SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2016

The written examination of SSC CGL will consist of two stages – Tier- I and Tier- II.  As per the calendar, Tier- 1 exam will now be held in the month of August 2016 and The details for the Tier -2 exam will be updated shortly along with the dates of CGL

Candidates who will qualify the Tier-1 exam will be eligible to appear in the Tier-2 Exam in August. For the information, both the exam will be an objective –based test comprising of multiple choice questions.
