Spamming & Scamming, Really? Is It An Issue?
This is a personal view and I
have no way of predicting the future. With that said, this is what I believe.
I personally have been in and
out of marketing on the internet since around 1995 or 1996 and I have seen
every kind of scam and spam there is to see. I like many here have had the
opportunity to watch the next generation of communication take its shape and
form the next best thing since the telephone.
What I see in APSense is a
very large group of very professional marketers that I am very proud to have
the chance to get to know. I have never seen the likes of people at APSense
that genuinely care and take the young and inexperienced under their wing and
shape them into a new generation of seasoned marketers and professionals.
What I am seeing here is a
pattern. As the new copy and paste addicts are finding out with every post they
make is a series of negative comments educating them and definitely sending a
message that this will simply not make it here. With every post they are
learning that copy & paste is a waste of time. It is unproductive and
whatever plan they have for making some kind of profit from it is a complete failure.
As far as the scammers are
concerned, I have heard that APSense has become a playground for them to thrive
on. I DON’T BELIEVE THIS FOR ONE SECOND! What I believe is that with the
popularity of the “Looked Up To Marketer”, (and I don’t mean this as an insult
in any way shape or form) there is a truth. The truth is that at APSense, for every
scammer there is a whole new class of people who really want to make their
living from the vast market called the internet that soon anybody who wants to
think of APSense as a target to spam or scam will regret it.
I can only say one thing
about the quality of APSense Senior Members. “Imitation Is The Sincerest Form
Of Flattery” and that my friends is the single most endearing quality that you
have passed down and will keep on passing along to those who venture here.
This is the single most
reason that keeps me here and in my opinion that is the best reason of all.
With all the change I still believe that APSense is the best Business Social
Network around and with this said I believe it can only get better.

Koodles Don, your Article sums everything up beautifully. You must keep on writing! There is no other social site on the net like APsense!

Hi, Cheryl, There are agencies already using the internet to identify con artists and criminals. Here in Spain the Nigerian letters scam has been dealt severe blows with major scam organisations being identified, closed down and prosecured. There are some good marketers out there but it is inevitable that the very wide tar brush will blacken them as well as the rogues. It is fairly clear that the general population of internet marketers is not seen as worthy of attention YET because 95% of them

I see that point is still being glossed over so let me post a questions to you Don. When the Various agencies step in and start imposing regulations that are going to take money out of your pocket because you have to be licensed-certified-bonded etc to prove you are not one of the many scammers, who are you going to blame for that and don't say the scammers. Just like every other regulated industry the blame is going to fall squarely on the honest marketers for not policing their industry when

Hi, Don - because of what I see every day in my various in-boxes and the forums that I read it would foolish of me NOT to assume that all internet marketers are cheats. It is called "self preservation" and, before it went out of fashion, would have also been called "common sense". HOWEVER - nowhere do I say that ALL internet marketers are cheats. Many people buy stuff because the sales letters and videos are so stultifyingly boring and enormously long that it is the only way to find out what the

I have just read a message on another of my special sites that I am a member of regarding scamming and fraudulent, it is on: http://sta.rtup.biz/profile/summer1955.rtup.biz:, this blog was written from Sylvain Houde on What is your website and why should you promote it ? This is like a group discussion I joined in within this site:.http://sta.rtup.biz/forum/topics/what-is-your-website-and-why?commentId=2084667%3AComment%3A5723167&xg_source=activity

If I may also interject what I hope is a relevant opinion, the very word "scam" is overused and abused. The FTC doesn't even use the word "scam". The FTC guidelines define illegal pyramid and Ponzi schemes, not "scams". The word "scam" can be slanderous if not used without cold hard facts. People can be very defensive when we call their major Biz-Op or program a "scam" or the program creator a "scammer" but if we encourage them to study the FTC guidelines for illegal pyramid and Ponzi schemes,

Fair enough, I do spot a flaw in your theory that you put so eloquently into terms that are laid out for all to understand. The flaw is that you have accused every internet marketer of basically being a cheat without knowing that they are. Most people buy something because they find value in what's offered, a way to help them in some kind of way. You assume that everyone has to be a savvy buyer like you who has very high standards and that is ok for your understanding of what you want. Some peop

Education is both the key and the root of the problem. Internet marketers are taught to lie, cheat, prevaricate and misrepresent everything they offer. The vast majority of wannaber internet marketers are predating upon other wannabe internet marketers and are simply off-loading any old rubbish with formulaic sales letters that are ten miles long, repetitious and stuffed with redundant superlatives. Many are trying to sell products that they either do not use or have not been able to make work f

Hi Don, I see that my use of English has you at a disadvantage. I have used my response starting "You don't understand....." as the central support for an article called "The unbalanced equation". Maybe that will help you to understand what I have written. 1> I have not assumed that this article is a selling point. I have accepted at face value and tried to point out the error of your conclusion. 2> I do not set traps. There is enough duplicity in the internet marketing world. 3> Please read wha

I understand your point and you have explained it well just as I had asked and I thank you for that. Here is my position: 1. This article was not intended as a selling point and 2. In a way I feel that your comment was set as a trap but I am glad that you explained because you are absolutely right. It is something I will be thinking of when I pitch a sale. 3. Trapping me to make a point? What was the point of putting that here. I can understand if you made that point on a rev page or a selling a

Hi, Don - You don't understand my position because I am not a marketer? Can't you see how precisely you have high-lighted the major problem of all internet marketers? I am a potential customer! I buy things on the web! I spend money on the web! You are an internet marketer but you are telling me, a potential customer, that you don't understand my position - HOW DO YOU EXPECT TO SELL TO ME? As a customer I am probably more aware of the lies and traps set up by internet marketers because I AM ONE

@ Fred-Zac and Chucks- Thank you guys for your kind words. Spam and scams are always going to be there no matter what you do. You can fight this war with anger and revenge but that is only going to breed more mongers. I don't have the answers I only know what I believe and that is my position. I feel that education is key. I watched a movie once and one of the lines that stood out was this; "If we can't get them out we will breed them out" It just struck a chord... Lol

@-The Old Coot- It is refreshing to read your no holds bard comments and articles. I guess it's because you are so brutally honest and to the point. Please elaborate on this point; "Nor can I believe that those who call themselves internet marketers will ever have the skill or desire to self regulate." I would really like to hear your views on self regulation? You say you are not a marketer then I don't understand your position.

You are right Paula, I have shaken my head in disgust when I have seen so called professionals proudly boast how much they have earned when it is clearly a scam. They use that as a tactic to get more to join so they can make more money.... Unfortunately these people have no morals. Many times when I get spam e-mail I reply to that person and try to explain what they are doing is wrong and many ignore my attempts but some have replied back and apologized. I have made many online friends this way.

@Zac I agree, sometimes people scream scam because they don't make money, on the other hand I see people scream legitimate because they have been paid. It come all down to research and due diligence as you say. Being paid does not make it legitimate. Boy would the mafia throw a party when that was the case.
