Sorceress Quick Build Guide in Diablo 2 Resurrected

by Claus Oliver game player
Sorceress is a powerful class in Diablo 2 Resurrected. This class mainly uses various magic skills to cause damage to the enemy. While not usually built for combat, this Sorceress invests enough in fire skills to kill monsters with a meteor. Here's a Sorceress build guide to help us play better.

Pros and Cons of the Enchant Sorceress

Pros

  • Great supporter build
  • Simple play style
  • Has some magic find farm options

Cons

  • Not built for combat
  • Relatively passive build
  • Limited farm options

Gear

The following gear contains "Ladder" runewords, but due to their popularity, according to Blizzard, they will be unlocked in Diablo 2 Resurrected for the first time in both single-player and multiplayer (Battle.net) modes. The same goes for ladder uniques and horadric cube recipes.

  • Helm: 2-Socket Helm with Lore Runeword (Location + Sol)
  • Armor: 2 socket armor with Stealth Runeword (Tal + Eth)
  • Shield: 4-socket shield (Monarch) with "Spirit" runeword (Tal + Thul + Ort + Amn)
  • Weapon: 4-socket sword with "Spirit" runeword (Tal + Thul + Ort + Amn)
  • Gloves: Mage Fist (Unique Gloves)
  • Belt, Boots: focus on mana/mana regenerate/life/resistances (e.g. through craft items for casters)
  • Amulet, Rings, Spells: Focus on sorceress skills, faster cast rate, mana/mana regenerate/life/resistances, and spells in the inventory

The Enchant Sorceress relies heavily on skill bonuses. A faster cast rate is helpful for this build but isn't the main focus. You play a supporting role and skills are the only focus.

This gear represents the minimum you need to play the build effectively. With +5+ on all skills overall and a faster cast rate, you can comfortably support your team. The Runeword Shield provides enough resistances, you cover any gaps with the rest of the equipment and/or spells in the inventory. In addition, for the 2nd weapon slot, you should get a wand with charges of the Necromancer Curse Resilience Drain for Fire Resistant/Immune monsters.

Mercenary

  • Type: Act 2 Desert Hireling (Offensive) on Nightmare difficulty with Power Aura
  • Gear: Helm of the Tal Rasha set, 3 sockets (ethereal) armor with the Runeword "Treachery" (Shael + Thul + Lem), 4 sockets (ethereal) Polearm with the runeword "Insight" (Ral + Tir + valley + sol)

The Might Aura version is recommended, as it allows the Mercenary to independently deal with enemies that are immune to your primary damage source, Fire. Otherwise, your mercenary is a tank and a meditation source (regenerate mana faster). The Helm of the Tal Rasha set grants great mercenary survivability. Like your fellow players, your mercenary will benefit enormously if you enchant his weapon!

Tips for Using Sorceress

  • Make sure your Ice Armor buff is permanently active.
  • Apply to enchant to your fellow players, their mercenaries, and yours.
  • Use telekinesis whenever possible to save time - for waypoints, town portals, your treasure chest, and for consumables like potions and scrolls. In addition, you can also use it to knock back mobs and keep them stunned. This is especially useful for knocking out Fire Immunes while your Mercenary takes them out.
  • Use teleport to move from place to place and to reposition/save your mercenary's life.
  • During combat, position yourself well for optimal damage with Meteor and pay attention to the enemy's position, movements, and auras. You either throw Meteor directly at your targets or slightly in front of them if they are moving. Keep in mind that there is a delay between when your meteor is cast and when it hits.
  • Fireball is great for quick area damage in between.
  • Use Static Field and your Mercenary against Fire Immune to drain non-Lightning Immune bosses' Health faster.

If you want to build a more powerful character, then you can buy d2r ladder items, which can give us more powerful attack power.
