The Somnath Temple also known as shiva temple, somnath mandir, shiv mandir. It located in the Prabhas Patan near the port of Veraval in Saurashtra on the west coast of Gujarat. Mughal emperor Aurangzeb ordered in 1702 that if Hindus worship again in the Somnath temple, it would be completely demolished. Eventually he again demolished the Shiva Temple in 1706. The Shiva Temple as it stands at present built by the Home Minister of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and dedicated to the nation by the President of India, Shankar Dayal Sharma on December 1, 1995.
