roof was built in 1966 in Cannes, France, called Le St Barth Beach Hotel. It
was the first hotel with a rooftop pool in the world. Also, the first hotel
with a rooftop pool in the U.S. was built in 1967 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida,
named The Anvil. Unfortunately, the Anvil is no longer open for business, but
some hotels have come along since then to make their history.

located on a private deck or patio. They are usually open to the public but do
not require a key to access. Most of the time, you will have to be staying at
the hotel to use this amenity. Look for one that even has its bar and wait
