She believed she could, so she did….

In case you didn’t know, women behind and in front of
the camera are responsible for some of the incredible cinema, TV shows and web
series of today. They have been and are in full force taking the world over
with their impeccable talent.
Women of today are extremely smart, taking all the major advantages the internet has to offer. They are not afraid to flip the script right back to the big studio of the entertainment industry that some time look pass their art. They are the pioneers, a brilliant lot, creating and producing web series that defy traditionally triggered gender roles. These web series discuss the importance of diversity and equality in any filed, and are getting recognition with multiple awards to their name and millions of views on their channel.
It boils our heart and soul when we realize that female characters are portrayed in a stereotypical role on television and films, most of the time overtly sexualized and less powerful than their male counterparts. The web, on the other hand gives these astounding female creators the power to break the norms, while showcasing a range of dynamic characters that are not only complex, but at the same time mighty, resilient, educated, naive and modern.
Our generation of women has not been represented this well before.

Witnessing most of the prime time TV shows we can safely conclude that gay men are highlighted typically either as best friends to women in the lead (read Sex and The city) or appear in only a few episodes accompanying them on shopping excursions. 'The Outs' is one of the shows to break the barrier and represent gay men as independent individuals in New York. The show follows their story of complicated and interwoven loves lives. Co-creator Sasha Winters portrays the role of Una, an utterly honest and brutal straight woman acting as a wing-woman, bringing fun and twist to the love triangle.

We know...we know...Valentine's Day is over, but hey you cannot ignore LOVE. We have to talk about it! 'The Couple' is an interesting, charming take on young folks in love and the obstacles they endure while trying to make their relationship work. Created by Jeanine Daniels and Numa Perrier, along with Dennis Diorcth, the web series showcases some powerful acting talents, wrapped with incredible writing. If you’re one of the man y people who enjoy watching the chemistry between two lead actors, this one is a perfect fit.

'Justice Woman' follows the story of a vibrant, young Assistant District Attorney, Sofia Escala who after discovering that the very legal system established to provide justice is disfranchised and filled with prejudice and corruption, takes upon her to take charge and solve crimes, one at a time. Writer, director, producer and the star of the show, Vanessa Verduga does not shy away from challenging the authority and social stigma of today. Gender equality, women empowerment and human rights are greatly highlighted in the show, making a stand that it's all about identifying and connecting with being a 'hero' inside.

The wonderful Sasheer Zamata of 'Saturday Night Live' and Nicole Byers of 'MTV's Girl Code' put in their heart to 'Pursuit of Sexiness,' which tells the story of two girls in their 20s and their everyday struggle of being young, broke and single women looking for potential date-able men, for love and for a few free meals, occasionally. As a creator of the show Sasheer makes sure to pitch in sharp and raunchy humor, and depict situations that are real and appealing to anyone who has a hard time finding a partner, and "getting it in.'
