Smart Link Building is beyond the Page Rank.
Whenever, I meet to any of my clients they all have one very common question in their mind that is how they can improve their sites page rank? At that time I feel little bad. After every short time of interval and also today, I am trying to explaining that page rank is only one of the factors from 200 factors which are using by Google for deciding your site ranking in SERP (Search Engine Result Page). I know that for a long time Page Rank is a measure to identifying the grand success of your SEO Campaign. But today, I don’t think that this page rank is most important part to get visibility in search engine or get targeted traffic on your website. Yes, this is an important factor in previous time when Google was established. So, when any of my client is telling to me focusing on getting back links from higher page rank site which have page rank 7 or higher, at that time I have to tell to my customer that zero is also consider as page rank in Google. This zero page rank link become beneficial at long term, it is one kind of strategies which are using in SEO as long term benefits for link building campaign.
Below, I want to discuss two point’s why you shouldn’t have to manage page rank while doing link building:

Pagerank shows the reputation of the site as in terms of the numeric value. And as much pagerank high that much of the quality data site hold and that much of the site is authorised for its content.

You might getting wrong @Kenny. As i do not want to say that pagerank is dead. But as what people thinks now that links from the low page rank site can affect negatively also , it is the matter. In the second para of the blog your confusion would be solved. So first read it carefully.
And in my blog it is also mentions that even link from the zero pr site can also be helpful for the site though at long term but it be helpful.

Manali I disagree pagerank is not dead, if you have a website with a pagerank of zero and you try to outrank a website with a pagerank of 4 5 6 7 8 or 9 for certain keyword, you will not outrank this website from this keyword because your website raank is zero, pagerank does matter
