Six Sigma: A Great Solution

This method is known as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control). A newer method is known as DFSS or Design for Six Sigma. The main aim of DFSS is to cultivate a new process, product or service that is free of any defects in the eyes of the client.

Six Sigma certainly looks like it’s here to stay. With its well-defined management structure and roadmaps it is a great step towards developing learning organizations. However, like with all other methodologies, Six Sigma will also grow and mature as it expands into new spheres such as DFSS. As six sigma consultants learn more about the strength of well-planned experiments, the design of experiments will be incorporated into most stages of Six Sigma and not just counted as an advanced tool for optimization and improvement stages.
