  • In this step, they will be required to fill in certain information like ward number, zone number, bill and sub number, etc., and click on the submit button. It is advisable to go through all the information and even refer to the previously paid tax receipts once before submitting. 

  • After that, they can see the outstanding amount on the screen. In order to pay the property tax, they can simply choose the ‘pay’ option and pay using credit or debit card or net banking system to complete the process. 

Due to these online procedures, from applying for a property loan to paying tax for that property, everything has become simple and streamlined. While going through these online portals, individuals can also figure out the ways to avail tax benefits on loan against property. However, individuals so disposed can still take advantage of the traditional offline process. Here is what they need to do:

For the offline process, individuals are required to submit the payments at Tax collectors, E-seva centres, TACTC or Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable Television Corporation in Taluk offices. They can also drop a cheque or demand draft by addressing to the Revenue Officer or Chennai Corporation to complete the offline process of paying property tax in Chennai. 

After the launch of so many convenient options, individuals are able to pay their taxes on time which has also enabled them to avoid penalty charges. Additionally, the tax documents come as a big help while applying for new housing loans or mortgage loan. Apparently, these loans enable borrowers to find new ways to effectively repay their existing loans as they can obtain a sizable amount by pledging their property as collateral.
