Secure the unit- Bolt down the unit to the concrete floor and use a metal casing or cage like covering on it to protect it from small animals and/or theft. Most of the times small animals like garden rates, squirrel and mongoose perceive AC units as shelters and build their nests inside. This can be dangerous both for the animal and the machine.
