Have you been thinking about changing your home’s bathroom? Each year thousands of homeowners decide to take the plunge and revamp their restrooms. For those that have outdated bathrooms with worn out fixtures, a bathroom remodels could be precisely what the doctor ordered.

Remodels can include not only replacing the outdated but also changing the layout. By improving the design, you can add more functionality. For instance, how much storage does your contemporary bathroom have? Wouldn’t you like to have more cubbies to store linens or bathroom products? Most answer yes, because it can free up closet space elsewhere, and provides a convenient location where you need to access supplies.

A contributing factor for many is cost. The cost of supplies and labor to complete the project should all be thought about before beginning.  How much you will pay dramatically depends on the contractor you use and how high-end of materials you choose to use. The materials could include tile, shower, tub, new toilet, sink, cabinets, flooring, and drywall. You can select the options you desire that suit your personality and style. Whether you want to install a frameless shower for a sleek modern look, or new subway tile that provides an accent border around the room, a remodel can provide these upgrades.

Many will choose to start a bathroom remodeling project on their own, thinking, how hard can it be?  In reality, changing many of the features to a restroom can be involved, and should be done by a professional Pittsburgh plumber. More complicated remodels that include moving fixtures mean you will need to reroute plumbing. However, this is an excellent opportunity to replace any plumbing lines that appear to be corroded.

While cost is at the forefront for most, the biggest benefit of a remodel comes from the equity you put into your home. Dollar for dollar there isn’t a better investment unless you count the kitchen. But bathroom remodels can cost significantly less than the kitchen while still giving vast amounts of equity into the property.

If you want a bathroom you can be proud to show off, one that rivals a magazine good appearance, a remodel is an excellent idea. The benefits of functionality, presentation, and equity are well worth the investment.  Consult with a professional plumber before starting any remodel project. They can help you determine the total cost and handle the labor involved with all the plumbing fixtures, as well as install new showers, toilets, and sinks.
